Professor Andrew Papachristos made an appearance on CBS News Chicago this week, discussing a new computer model designed to aid efforts to address and reduce police misconduct.
As allegations against individual Chicago officers continue to make headlines, this model--a joint effort between Northwestern and the Invisible Institute--attempts to move beyond the idea of rooting out "bad apples" to the identification of problematic networks within the force.
"You can't just look at one cop," Papachristos cautioned. "You have to look at the groups around them."
