Current Research

My current research focuses on the politics of legislation to combat climate change, which has been enacted predominantly in U.S. statehouses, not the U.S. Congress. I am therefore interested in the sociological processes of state-level public policy development more generally. Specifically, I examine the roles of state legislators, executive branch administrators, social movements, and a range of other interest groups. I also examine economic considerations associated with the regulation of greenhouse gas emissions.
