Biography

I received my PhD from the University of Seville in 1995 and, after moving to Carlos III University in Madrid, I am currently Professor of Accounting at the University of Burgos. My interests revolve around the notion that accounting has both reflective and constitutive roles in society and this why my research intends to be interdisciplinary, with a particular focus on sustainable development. My research projects include exploring the relevance of accounting for carbon in the construction of carbon markets and the study of the role played by accounting in the construction of the pre-modern state in Castile.
