Dr. Rebecca Chiyoko King-O’Riain is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Sociology at the National University of Ireland, Maynooth. Her research interests are in culture, race/ethnicity, beauty, migration and emotions, multiraciality, and ethnographic methods. She has published in Ethnicities, Sociology Compass, Journal of Asian American Studies, Amerasia Journal, and Irish Geography as well as in several edited books. Her book Pure Beauty: Judging Race in Japanese American Beauty Pageants was published by the University of Minnesota Press in 2006.
