News From our Alumni

Ornstein, Joellen, (BA 2011) major in Sociology. Joellen is a Project Manager/ Implementation Consultatn for an electronic medical records company. As an implementation consultant, she obtains information from customers to assist with configuring a software that would fit their organization in the best ways. She also assist with creating and updating documentation on the medical records software.

Lin, Katherine Y., (BA 2008) major in MMSS and Sociology, with a minor in Global Health Studies. She majored in sociology for the theoretical foundation for understanding interest in social issues. Katherine in the graduate student doctoral sociology and population studies program at the University of Michigan. She id doing research on healthcare and population health.

Smith, Lindsey P., (BA 2007) is now attending the University of North Carolilna in the doctoral program. She graduated from Yale University with a Masters of Public Health, in Social Behavioral Studies, 2011.

Switzer, Veronica, (BA 2007) works for The First Church of Christ, Scientist, as the International Events and Activities coordinator. Veronica plans local activities in nearby communities with youth groups and international groups, primarily African and North American youths.

Tester, Kimberly, (BA 2003) currently is attending part-time Northwestern Kellogg School of Management studying healthcare management and social enterprise. Kimberly is the Director of Business Development at the Heartland International Health Center.

Ramsey, Rosemary, (BA 1998) is a Senior Director in Operations at the Brookdale Senior Living community. She manages a team aimed to staff the retirement communties in a manner that maximizes customer service and ifficiency.

Vujevich, Justin J. MD, (BA 1996) majored in medical sociology and pre-medicine. He is a board certified dermatologist specializing in skin cancer detection and removal using Mohs (chemosurgery) surgery.

Taillon, Christie, (BA 1980) is currenlty a sociology instructor at Lonestar College-Montgomery Campus. Her area of studies were in sociology, urban studies and gerontology.

Martin, Denise, (BA 1973) began as a history teacher after graduate from Northwestern, then became a dean, assistant principal, associate principal and assistant superintendent at Evanston Township High School

Tye, Richard, MD (BA 1970) Dr. Tye complete a doctorate in dentistry at Northwestern. He stayed in Evanston, opened up a dental office and end up being named Top Dentist by Chicago Magazine 2009.

Krumbein, Elaine F. MSW (1946) received a MSW at Loyola University of Chicago in 1975. One of her highlights of her work was a mother/daughter group she led with her daughter, Deborah K. Davorian, (Univ. of MI MSW) which facilitated unusual growth over a short period of time.
